YouTube Suspends Trump Channel For One Week, Removes New Video

The Google-owned platform, YouTube on Tuesday suspended Donald Trump’s channel for “at least seven days” and deleted a newly uploaded video for violating its anti-incitement policy.

Last week, Facebook suspended Donald Trump‘s Facebook and Instagram accounts following a violent invasion of the U.S. Capitol by a crowd of his supporters, which temporarily disrupted Democrat Joe Biden‘s certification of election victory.

Twitter went further by deleting the Republican billionaire’s account, depriving him of his favourite platform. Other social networks like Snapchat and Twitch have also suspended President Trump’s account.

The House of Representatives committee in the United States met on Tuesday over a resolution introduced by Democrats to impeach Trump, CNN news channel reported on Tuesday.

Democrats call for a resolution to allow Vice President Mike Pence and a majority of the US Congress to declare the president “unfit” to hold office and remove him from office, invoking the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution.

Mike Pence should then, for the last days of Donald Trump’s mandate, take on the latter’s executive powers.
