Police Arrests Corps Member For Allegedly Raping JSS 1 Student In Katsina

The police command in Katsina has arrested a corps member who reportedly raped a female junior secondary student at his place of primary assignment.

Katsina state police spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah who confirmed the incident disclosed that they are still awaiting the medical reports to formally charge the corps member with the crime.

Isah said; 

"Yes, the boy has been arrested and remains in detention but we are still awaiting the outcome of our investigation and the medical report to firmly establish the allegation.”

According to report, the corps member was arrested after the JSS 1 student accused him of raping her at the residence the school he works with, provided for serving corps members.

NYSC authorities in the state however, revealed that they are awaiting police investigation into the case.
