Bayelsa Guber: Three Killed, Many Injured As Thugs Disrupt PDP Rally In Nembe
Emerging report indicates that no fewer than three persons were killed when suspected thugs attacked Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally at Okolomabiri in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Wednesday.
YANS gathered that the gunmen stormed the venue of the rally and began shooting indiscriminately.
A staff of the Bayelsa State Broadcasting Corporation known as Simon Onu, was killed by a stray bullet.
Two other persons said to be supporters of the PDP and indigenes of Nembe-Ogbolomabiri community were also killed during the violence, which equally saw a policeman and others sustain different degrees of injury.

Confirming the development, Fidelis Soriwei, spokesman of Bayelsa governor, Seriake Dickson alleged that the attack was carried out by thugs of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Thugs of the All Progressives Congress led by Gabriel Jonah and one Kodjo Sam fired at members of the Peoples Democratic in a bid to prevent the gubernatorial rally of the party for Nembe Local Government Area,” Soriwei said.
“The attackers also opened fire at the Protocol bus of the Bayelsa State Government House at a junction between Bassambiri and Ogbolomabiri.
“One of the PDP members died of gunshot injuries while several others sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to the hospital," he added.
This comes days to the November 16 governorship election in the South-South state.
