Award-winning American rapper and music producer, Kanye West has received some strong criticisms on social media over delaying the release of his upcoming album ‘Jesus is King’.
Kanye, 42 had earlier told fans to expect the much anticipated album on September 27, 2019.
The artiste has however left lovers of his music disappointed and agitated, following his failure to drop his next ‘masterpiece’ on its scheduled release date.
As at the time of filing this report, Kanye West’s website had yet to issue an update on the status of the album, with its front page still displaying Friday as the official release date.
West has on several occasions failed to release announced albums on their scheduled outing dates so this will not be the first time such delay is coming from the singer.
Not long after the public was graced with the ‘Ye’ album previously released in June 2018, West had announced he would drop a second album that September.
That album, titled ‘Yandhi’, was initially postponed until November and then to an unspecified date in 2019.
It is also not clear if ‘Jesus is King’ is a new name for ‘Yandhi’ or if the two albums are entirely separate works.
However, what is crystal clear is the fact that the delay which is causing West’s new album to not see the light of day yet, did not sit well with some of his fans who out of annoyance have taken to social media platforms, especially Twitter, to express their opinions on the matter.
A Twitter user said “When @kanyewest said he was gonna drop that damn album, you should have realized from his track record that it wasn’t f**king dropping when he said. He is not the Ye of old. He is troubled. He is off. Don’t expect too much from homie. Keep your sanity,”
