Reports have it that Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki on Monday paid a surprise visit to his predecessor and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole in his hometown, Auchi.
The duo have recently been involved in fierce political rivalry over who gets what, when and how in the state.
The Edo House of Assembly where the political battle is playing out, is yet to commence legislative business after the assembly was hurriedly inaugurated at night, shutting out Mr Oshiomhole’s loyalists from taking control of its leadership.
The governor was accompanied on the visit by members of the Edo State Executive Council.
According to an official in the governor’s team, the visit was unplanned as the governor was on his way to a reception in honour of the 80th birthday of former APC national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun.
