Barcelona’s LaLiga title hopes suffer huge blow after 3-3 draw with Levante
Barcelona’s title hopes suffered a big blow on Tuesday, following a 3-3 draw with Levante.
The visitors twice threw away the lead and ultimately dropped points in what is a tight race with few fixtures left.
Lionel Messi gave Barca the lead in the 26th minute, before Pedri made it 2-0 just before the break.
However, quick goals from Gonzalo Melero and Jose Luis Morales saw Levante level for the first time in the game.
The Catalans went in front again through Ousmane Dembele and looked to have gone provisionally top of the table. But they conceded again with seven minutes left.
The draw took Barcelona into second position in the standings on 76 points, one behind leaders Atletico Madrid and one ahead of third-placed Real Madrid, who both have a game in hand.
Atletico can go four points clear of Ronald Koeman’s with victory at home to Real Sociedad on Wednesday, while Real Madrid are away to Granada on Thursday.
