Emporium Reporters Marks Decade with Inaugural Leadership Lecture, Awards in Abuja

Royalprince Media Services, publishers of Emporium Reporters, Emporium Magazine and Emporium Online TV, will host the maiden edition of the Emporium Leadership Lecture and Awards 2026 on June 25, 2026, in Abuja. The event marks a double milestone for the media group.

The ceremony coincides with the 10th anniversary of Emporium Reporters. Organizers say it is designed to honor outstanding leadership, institutional excellence, and significant contributions to Nigeria’s national development.

Themed “From Clicks to Credibility: Digital Media’s Role in Deepening Nigeria’s Democracy,” the lecture will examine how digital platforms can advance credible information, responsible journalism, accountability, and democratic growth. The focus reflects growing debates around media trust and civic engagement in Nigeria.

Chief Sunday Akinlabi Dare, CON, FNIS, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, will chair the event. The keynote address will be delivered by Abdullahi O. Haruna Haruspice, Publisher of World Entourage Magazine.

A roster of high-profile guests is expected. Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, President of the Senate, will attend as Special Guest of Honour. Other invited dignitaries include Alhaji Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation; Brig. Gen. Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, Director-General of NYSC; IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu; Chief Tony Ojukwu, SAN, OFR, Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission; and Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, Director-General of the National Orientation Agency.

The awards segment will recognize distinguished Nigerians and institutions for exceptional service and leadership. Recipients include ACC John Attah Onoja of the NSCDC Mining Marshals; Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Adekunle Balogun of NIDCOM; CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi of the Nigeria Customs Service; Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR; and Comrade Grace Ike, NUJ FCT Council Chairman.

Also listed for honors are Fame Foundation for Gender Advocacy and Social Impact; Dr. Wisdom Enang, Energy Consultant; Hon. Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya, former House of Representatives member; Dr. Innocent Odey of InnoBec Business School; Ambrose Omordion of InvestData Consulting Limited; and Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Director-General of Voice of Nigeria.

Speaking on the initiative, Lukman Laleye Babalola, Publisher/Chief Executive Officer of Royalprince Media Services, said the event underscores the organization’s commitment to credible journalism, responsible leadership, and national development. He described the 10th anniversary as a milestone celebrating a decade of impactful reporting and public engagement.

The event will also unveil a Special 10th Anniversary Commemorative Edition of Emporium Magazine. The edition will document achievements of personalities and institutions driving meaningful change across sectors. Government officials, media executives, corporate leaders, and policymakers are expected to attend.
