Hope Uzodimma, Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, has launched four million-plus grassroots mobilisation groups aimed at securing a second term for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The governor said Tinubu’s performance so far provides a strong case for re-election as political groundwork for 2027 begins to take shape.
He made the announcement Wednesday in Abuja during the National Mobilisation Retreat of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, RHA. At the Transcorp Hilton event, Uzodimma, who serves as RHA Director-General, unveiled what he called an “ambitious grassroots mobilisation strategy” themed “Building a Unified National Mobilisation Architecture.”
The plan is already in motion, he told party leaders, stakeholders and coordinators gathered for the retreat. RHA has deployed mobilisation groups and canvassers across Nigeria’s polling units to ensure coverage from top to bottom of the electoral structure. 
Uzodimma credited Tinubu’s economic reforms and development programmes for the early gains being seen. He acknowledged the pain that came with difficult policy choices but insisted the administration has delivered despite initial resistance and challenges.
According to him, Tinubu showed courage where past governments hesitated. “The Renewed Hope Agenda is not merely a government programme; it is a comprehensive plan to rebuild Nigeria and secure a better future for generations to come,” he said, pointing to investments in infrastructure, healthcare, social interventions and economic policy.
The numbers behind the strategy are massive. The structure covers all six geopolitical zones, 36 states plus the FCT, 774 local governments, 8,809 wards and 176,846 polling units. RHA’s model places 25 canvassers at each polling unit, creating what Uzodimma described as a lawful civic force of 4,421,150 people nationwide.
“That is the mathematics of serious mobilisation. That is the difference between hoping to win and organising to win,” he told the audience. He stressed the teams would be kept active ahead of the official 2027 campaign flag-off.
Uzodimma defined the approach as persuasion without insults. “We mobilise without arrogance. We defend the President without insulting the citizen. We answer hard questions without losing our temper,” he said, framing the mission as communicating truth and evidence with discipline.
Other APC leaders backed the plan. Kaduna Governor Uba Sani, RHA Deputy Director-General, urged tighter links between government policy and the people. Gombe Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya called it a step toward a cohesive national network, while Minister of Budget Atiku Bagudu expressed confidence the reforms would stabilise the economy and create jobs.
APC National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yiltwada commended RHA members for expanding the party’s base and promoting the administration’s work. The retreat is expected to produce a National Grassroots Mobilisation Blueprint, communication frameworks and state action plans. RHA Director of Organisation Chief Olisa Metuh closed by urging patience from Nigerians and intensified public enlightenment, especially on security and economic reforms.
