Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro, commissioned two key constituency projects over the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, he unveiled the newly constructed and fully equipped Primary Healthcare Center at Udegi-Ito in Obi LGA, and the rehabilitated PCI water project in Okpoga, Okpokwu LGA.
Addressing crowds at both events, Moro said his focus for Zone C is to close the infrastructure gap left by years of neglect from the Benue State government. He pledged to keep using his position to attract projects that deliver direct, tangible benefits to communities. The senator emphasized that improving healthcare access remains a top priority for his representation.
Moro disclosed that he has built twelve healthcare centers across Benue South, with more set for commissioning in the coming days. He urged residents of the benefitting communities to protect the new facilities against vandalism, stressing that ownership and vigilance are key to sustaining them. At Udegi-Ito, he said he would contact the NYSC to mobilize a doctor and nurse to start operations at the centre while awaiting permanent government postings. 
Speaking directly to constituents, Moro said his entry into politics was driven by a desire to make a measurable difference. “I don’t talk much, I let my works speak for me,” he stated. He recalled that Udegi residents had sought water for over 100 years, and celebrated the successful drilling as evidence of progress. He promised to drill another borehole in the community and extend the search to neighboring areas.
Community leaders welcomed the interventions warmly. The acting Ad’Utu Obi, Chief Emmanuel Odeh Obagi, thanked Moro for bringing both the healthcare centre and borehole to Udegi-Ito, calling it an unprecedented development for the area. He noted that the solar-powered borehole is the first functional one in the community after multiple failed attempts, and linked the ongoing reconstruction of the Otukpo-Obi-Oju road to reduced travel time for residents.
Contractor Frederick Agada thanked the senator for the opportunity to execute both projects and commended the communities for their cooperation. He charged locals to safeguard the facilities, noting that their longevity depends on community protection. Other speakers at the events echoed similar gratitude, including youth leaders, traditional elders, party candidates, and local officials from Obi and Okpokwu LGAs.
Representatives from across the political spectrum praised Moro’s track record in the Senate, particularly his focus on Zone C. They thanked him for keeping his constituents’ needs at the forefront and assured him of continued support so he can sustain his development efforts. The speakers included PDP, Accord Party, and ADC figures, as well as leaders of youth and welfare associations.
The commissioning ceremonies concluded with tape-cutting rituals. At Udegi-Ito, the tape was cut by Gen. Odeh Ede (Rtd), PDP sole candidate for Oju/Obi Federal Constituency. In Okpoga, Hon. Anyebe J. Agada, PDP sole candidate for Ogbadibo State Assembly, performed the honors, marking the official handover of the projects to the communities.
