Nelson Ogbu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, has officially joined the contest for the Ado State Constituency seat in the Benue State House of Assembly. He collected his nomination form ahead of the 2027 general elections, signaling the start of his campaign for the legislative position.
The form was obtained at the ADC State Secretariat in Makurdi. Ogbu said he adhered to all the guidelines and requirements set by the party for aspirants seeking elective office. 
A wide range of party members attended the event. Leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and residents from Ado Local Government Area were present to show solidarity and lend their backing to his bid.
After receiving the form, Ogbu expressed gratitude to the party leadership, key stakeholders, and the ADC executive committee in Ado LGA. He credited their confidence and encouragement as major factors in his decision to run.
He explained that his motivation comes from a desire to secure stronger and more direct representation for the constituency. According to Ogbu, his priority is leadership that remains closely tied to grassroots realities and concerns.
Outlining his platform, Ogbu emphasized principles of quality service delivery, inclusive leadership, and youth empowerment. He added that putting people first would be the foundation of his representation if elected.
Looking toward the campaign period, he assured supporters that engagement with constituents would be consistent and ongoing. He said dialogue and feedback from the community would directly shape his plans as the build-up to 2027 progresses.
With the nomination process now underway, Ogbu’s entry has added fresh momentum to the race for the Ado State Constituency seat. Party members in the area expect more consultations and outreach activities in the months ahead as the contest takes shape.
