President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday approved a new round of leadership changes across key institutions in Nigeria’s education sector.
The appointments, confirmed in a statement released by the Presidency, affect the National Examination Council, the National Board for Technical Education, a federal polytechnic, and the National Library of Nigeria. 
For NECO, Prof. Modupe Adeola Adelabu will now serve as Chairman of the Governing Board. She takes over leadership of the examination body’s highest decision-making organ.
Prof. Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi was retained in his role as Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO. His continuation signals the administration’s confidence in the current direction of the council.
At the National Board for Technical Education, Prof. Babatunde Salako has been appointed Chairman of the Governing Board. The NBTE oversees standards and accreditation for technical and vocational institutions nationwide.
Prof. Idris M. Bugaje was also reappointed as Executive Secretary of the NBTE. The Presidency noted this is his second and final five-year term in the position.
Engr. Dr. Bongfa Binfa received a fresh mandate as Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam in Plateau State. His appointment is for a five-year term.
Rounding out the list, Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi had her tenure renewed as Director and Chief Executive of the National Library of Nigeria. The statement specified that this will be her final five-year term.
