Governor Mbah Breaks Ground for Nursing Sciences Projects

Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an administrative block, classrooms, and a 176-bed hostel for the Enugu State College of Nursing Sciences, Oji River Campus.

The governor, who also initiated the construction of a 200-bed hostel at the State College of Nursing Sciences, Awgu, reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education and health.

Dr Mbah, represented by his Special Adviser on Health, Dr Yomi Jaye, announced approval for the renovation of the administrative block, classrooms, and hostel of the State College of Health Technology, Oji River.

He urged residents of Awgu and Oji River to support the contractors, noting that the goal is to admit the first set of students into the Oji River Campus before the end of the year.

The Provost of the State College of Health Technology, Dr Lazarus Ezeugwu, described the project as a game-changer for the institution, saying it will elevate the school’s status.

Dr Ezeugwu’s sentiments were echoed by the Provost of Parklane and Awgu Campuses of the College of Nursing Sciences, Dr Peace Anih, who thanked the governor for making Enugu a reference point.

Dr Anih promised to ensure maximum protection of the project, expressing gratitude for the governor’s efforts.

The contractors have been given four months to deliver the projects in the two campuses.
